Thanks! You know, I had to burn some albino goat’s hair mixed with my own blood, at a crossroads, at midnight, during a full moon, to get my avatar to do that… but it was worth it ;-)

What best for me is going to your upload page and seeing dozens of the little things all bouncing at once, try it after a bad day at work, works wonders.

Wow karmickill’s got an awesome voice. Love this. Great strings. Nice work Duckett.

Hey now, can you stop bobbing up and down for a minute son, I’m talking to you here. ; )

I really like this duckett. I guess the samp you are referring to is the old 50s orchestra riff. its that that gives this its character.

Have you considered putting a descending bass note on the chorus riff just give the chords some additional shape. ?

but anyway very cool poppy mix

Thanks! Actually, that riff must be at least from the 30’s, for it to be public domain (the 70-year rule).
I actually did think about putting some bass, or otherwise embellishing the basic piano; I may still do so at some point.

Yes the treatment fits really well with the vox giving it a nice light poppy feel.

Good backing track as well.

Thanks! With a chorus like that, I couldn’t resist.

Ahh ‘tis a good crop at present ;-) You do justice to a great ‘pella, but, why so short? I was just getting in to it!

Thanks! Being as simple of an arrangement as it currently is, I figured it was just long enough to make you want to play again, and not get too bored.

I liked It. Is very soft and the music leaves you with a nice feeling inside. Maybe you could reduce the popiness on the vocals a little more.

Thanks! I tend to think the contrast between the sweetness of the delivery, and the state of mind depicted by the lyrics, worked best in a simple format that might appeal to “top 40” listeners, yet would still leave a sense of thoughtfulness afterwards… hope that makes sense ;-)

holy hell what year did you travel back to in order to rip that violin? During the stage coach robbery scene, I saw smoke from the guns, then the words appeared on the screen, so I was able to follow the action in this film over ill beats of the drums.

LOL …what can I say, not only do I like ye olde samples, but I also don’t have to worry about RIAA lawyers ruining my life ;-)
Thanks for listening!

Another fitting accompaigment to a real beautiful vocal sample.
You have some good hand for this kind of “simple” arrangement with a few neat details like the retro sample. Nicely chord progression.
The drum sample is a bit stumpy, but hey, why not? :-)

Thanks! Though I may be no wunderkind, I always very much liked songs/arrangements that can say something equally well with 4 tracks, as well as 48 ;-)
PS I’ve never heard of drums being described as “stumpy” before, but it is descriptive. As you say, “…Why not?”

My fault! As you know that I am no “wunderkind” in English language
I reject everything I_ve said about “stumpy” (my online translate programm offers some strange porposes though).
It_ s sort of straight BliphoP beat I guess! ;-)
Had again a few listens now and would say that I dig your piano playing and the chords you_ve used.

Very nice Duckett, a really nice voice I wasnt aware of yet, so thanks for introducing me. That string part is great.

Duckett, I heard this pella when it first came up. DOn’t be so fast to remix! It means I have to wait till this is out of my head!!! Good, clean, solid mix with a laid back feel putting this voice into an established sort of groove and sound. Kudos to karmickill for a great pell too!

Beat starts great. Then piano starts great. Lyrics add to the greatness (Fan of the ol’ female vocals). The beat develops nicely. The background strings also seem right where they should be.

Enjoyed this from start to finish. Production work is top and just the general overall sound for this makes sense to me.

Top Marks.

Thanks! Maybe it’s not the most complex remix out there, but it felt right to me…
