dude, you’re going to out-ride the rtf gang — this is one of the best magnatune remixes I’ve heard in a long time.

actually, I agree with BOC that the average listener wants something to focus on while listening — I fall down here a lot because I fall in love with the beat or background and forget there’s nothing ‘on top’. But as a foundation it’s really great and the other good news is that, being a remix site, others are encouraged to add that top level ;)

i agree, i thought it may be a bit “short” something, it seems repetitive without that extra something.. i hope someone will hook up a nice melody..

Brisk beats get us going on this one, and by :24 we’re already insistent and in the groove, with a hip little drone underlaying it all and allaying my worry that you’ve left your chill roots.

The drumbeat sound is great, and the little melody fits it well. The intervening synth melody about 1:10 has a cinematic feel to it, which is a lot of fun and at the same time is perhaps less edgy than another choice might have been.

Each time you mix, it seems to me that you’ve advanced another notch in terms of getting the dynamic feel and immediacy squeezed like clementine juice right onto the sonic page. This mix feels so alive and “right there”.

In chess, the Dragon is a complex and difficult defense, capable of a fiery sting, but subject to the complexities of pawn storms. Your dragon is anything but empty, and leaves theory on the page in favor of solid tactics.

I’m always at odds, a bit, whether songs like this should have the longer length of dance tracks or the 3 minute pop approach—on balance, I think this one might benefit from getting out at 3 or 3:30. But this is a great song, once again, and it makes me want to pore through it and learn.
