I’ve very much looked forward to hearing your mix. how did you get that far away sound in the trumpet (i’m curious)? i love the way you’ve utilized the stereo field. did you create that kicka$$ loop? great use of dynamics. your melody and vocal performance is both beautiful and haunting.

One trumpet phrase is a straight logic loop, but that one phrase you’re talking about is a midi loop, slightly edited so it would behave melodically. The far-away sound is a stereo tape delay with an 1/8th note dotted dub setting.

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. The only reason I’ve come such a long way with production is because of the community at ccMixter!

very emotional and a bit unexpected - when I have seen you participating to the secret mixter I was really curious what you will come up with. and you have positively astonished me. Shows again how creative you can play with different genres.

I believe I’ve told you before, but to reiterate — I love your musical sensibility. I love how well placed the delicate drops are against the heavy beat. Great arrangement and fantastic sound. Excellent work CSM! bravo!

Smooth and sleek. The vocals help give it a good feel.
