A beautiful backtrack for thought provoking words. A wonderful remix!

Thank you. The music is all urmymuse, in his synthy 80s phase. The words…they’re just my tools.

wonderful poem. meaningful. And it greatly enhances the “de-rocked” version from urmymuse.

The sparsity of this really adds focus to your words. I like the vocal treatment and the moving sound of it.

Hope the aches and pains were worth it ..after all it is about endurance. 😊

Thank you. On further reflection, I don’t think I can blame this flare up on remixing…just bad luck and old age…

Awww thank you thank you !

This is a really lovely use of my swirl track, the sparse deconstructed nature of it appeals greatly

Supports your brill poem very nicely!

It is fitting that you chose this track as i only dug it out to post on ccmixter at the prompting of Apoxode … who was my assignment this time round

Cheers!

You are most welcome. The stems were great to work with as they played off each other nicely, which made my job a lot easier. The poem took a long time to come because my head has been pre-occupied with our impeachment hearings over here and accessing poetry has been a real bother.

I’m relieved you liked it as my target is my only worry in terms of audience acceptance, and Englishmen hold a very special place in my heart. I’m married to a Cheshireman, and I have had quite a collection of nears and dears over the years, and still do. So welcome to my collection :-). I’ve got another of yours teed up in my system and as soon as I get some time and the upload limit resets, you may see another one of yours with some words added. I love your nickname by the way!

Thank you for taking me to zen. The ambience of urmymuse and your ethereally wise lyrics. And of course the energy of your voice (the treatment is beautiful too). We are here to be happy! I have no attachment, but would love the pell! :)

And, can’t really explain how much joy it has given me to hear your voice in this Secret Mixter. Twice today!! I’ve missed your art, wisdom, and that sound wave that is uniquely yours. Thank you for being here today!!

Thank you on a most personal level for your very kind words. It’s been quite a few months for my voice as I had my tonsils out in August. Thank you for also keeping this beacon of hope and collaboration together. I may not be visibly active here all the time but I keep watch over it. I wish I could throw some money in too, but two kids headed for higher education puts a little strain on the family….

You had your tonsils out just this past August? I hope you are recovering fully and the benefits of having them gone last the rest of your life.

Yes I did. I recovered within a month. My only regret was that I missed August in the garden and eating our height of the summer produce. Because I wasn’t out there harvesting, a lot of stuff didn’t get eaten by the family. But the wildlife had a good year!

Great message, wonderfully paced

Thank you. The pacing was done through editing which was a pain in the backside, especially when I went to double the track. Even when this stuff is simple, it isn’t!

The music and the vocals fit very well together here. Good job. I got a chance to see Laurie Anderson in concert some years ago. She lived up to expectation—a wonderful performance.

Thank you. I’ve seen Laurie twice live. One was a concert tour in support of her album Strange Angels, and one was a sort of talk/concert which was fascinating. She’s teaching a class at Princeton this semester which is about half an hour from my house and it’s all I can do but go sit outside the building and wait for her to come out!

Beautiful, beautiful work. The writing resonates with me on a deep and personal level. You did a beautiful job arranging and producing the track. Bravo!

Thank you. The words were kind of hard to come by and the production and arranging did involve actual thought so it’s nice to have it recognized!

Thoughtful and interesting remix, you capture the spirit of the mixter theme well.
I like your minimalist approach to urmymuse’s track, it does work with your spoken word.
Great timing for the rhythm, it accents the ending of the speech nicely.
Also, I am a fan of Laurie Anderson, I’ve been listening to her 80s work a lot recently :)

Thank you. I appreciate the detailed review. The 80s were an interesting time. Some of us are locked there and find it hard to get out! As for Laurie’s work, it is so vast and interesting. I love her production voice so much. I did her VR installation “Chalkroom” twice. I wish I had hours in there. Look it up online. It’s fascinating. She has a new one called To The Moon, I think.
