I’m familiar with debbizo the poet. You’ve transformed her into a singer of sorts. Nice.

Love it Sackjo! The bass tones hold it all together—the sax breathes life around the words—and the guitar notes drip with dreamy simplicity. I want to get in my car and drive out to the desert under the half moon and venus. Thanks!

Wow, really nice. The sax drum/bass/groove with your backing vocals is fantastic and you did a great job of letting in the spoken word. The few notes you provided with the guitar were just the right ones as well. So yeah - really nice.

very nicely done. a beautiful piece with expansive dynamic and excellent use of debbizo. your backvox add lovely sonic color to deb’s groove and spoken word. love it!

on my 4th listen of this track. really great stuff susan. i love how the leading melody toggles between the moving sax and singing guitar….your back vox come in and out and create great texture and section. very lovely. deb’s spoken word floats above and under the surface, at all the right moments.

wonderful job Madame Sackjo!
Debbizo’s vocal rests comfortably in the musical bed you created - and creates a sense of intimacy! |

Another well crafted remix, SackJo. I like the way you broke the song down in the middle to let the vocal shine through there.

I’d love to use this as the soundtrack for a film - something like ‘Klute’ (one of my all time favourites). The b/t is so snazzy, sexy and sophisticated and works wonderfully well with deb’s thoughtful, gentle voice and words. A classy piece of work, Sack - which is only what I expect from you! xxxx

Also, the harmony vocals sound amazing. |

The sax is one of my favourite instruments I think it creates a brilliant lead in this piece…debbizo’s words are moving. Good work all round

Bright, vibrant mix. The vocals are mixed into the action really capably, making the poem and the song merge into one melded whole. The horn, the background vocals, the great, quirky melody—-a mix which completely works. Great job.

Great juxtapositions of her spoken words and the music lulls you to the after glow. Well done.

wohoo - more guitar! Glad to hear you expand all around. Sounds good on you! And I presume I won’t have to comment on your vocal tracks. :-)

sorry - I was just trying to encourage you to keep playing the guitar - not that something was missing in this particular mix :-)
And I appreciate how difficult it is to tinker on an instrument when someone of Haskel’s caliber is so near - that’s why I tried to cheer you on from the distance. |

It’s fantastic! Thank you SJ.I love the guitar and your vocals. And I’m so glad to see the sax sample used - you’ve made it work perfectly with the spoken word and the guitar. I also like the way you ‘broke down’ the music in the middle…when the sax goes quiet and the guitar comes in. I’m just getting ready for work so will listen again later. Bravo!

I am most happy that you are pleased Deb! Ultimately what was most important to me was your pleasure in what I did with your work. So given that, it was a treat to work with your uploads and to have an opportunity to listen again to some, and more carefully to some, of your terrific poetry.

This is a sensual setting of a beautifully recited poem(s) of erotic memory. The bass is killer. The middle section conveys a person lost in personal reverie, temporarily unaware of the crowds around her. And let’s own up about the clever guitar. Guitar heroes are completely boring. This is some enjoyable playing.

Really cool use of the saxophones, and the original pieces you’ve added, particularly the vocal chorus, add a signature touch that nobody else could (or would) replicate. Despite all your use of debbizo’s parts, this retains the signature eerie quality of your own music.
