Ben Blohowiak: Lyrics, vocals, piano, percussion, brass sparky: tambourine, upright piano, organ, synth, drum kit, acoustic guitar, electric guitars, bass guitar Zenboy1955: Orchestra, spoken word I added a spoken word section (find below) at the beginning—taking inspiration from Ben’s lyrics. I’m being a little obtuse with my language, but I’m sure you can decipher what I’m getting at with a little effort. This project started back in November of 2025, only to be shelved—many times—out of frustration. What vexed me stemmed from the fact that I simply could not remember how to use many of my DAW’s features at any useful level. I’ll let that sink in. I was dealing with side effects of a medication that lists “confusion” as its main drawback. For the period between late 2024 to late 2025, I couldn’t remember how or where to do things in my Digital Audio Workstation. As soon as I could, I stopped taking the med. Thankfully, the mental fog began dissipating, and my physical ailment for which I was taking the med had stabilized. And so, it was in November of 2025 when I began to slowly re-enter the Mixterverse after a rather extended leave of absence, and it was also the same time when Ben had masterfully added what he humbly called a “guide vocal” to sparky’s stellar “Dancing On The Head Of A Pin”. The results just blew me away. I knew what I wanted to do for a remix. It was just a matter of me re-learning to do most things in my DAW. This mix was a monster: Forty-seven tracks that had to be mixed down. Most of the mixer tracks were from the orchestra—but quite a few were also Ben’s and sparky’s stems. The orchestration is a VST from Spitfire Audio called “BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover”. If you are at all interested in using an orchestra in your music, check it out at Spitfire’s website. It’s FREE. I’m going to try to include midi stems from now on. Martinsea expressed an interest in working with midi, which is how I do 99% of my recording, and I’m hoping the practice will catch on. Statisticians and Apologists curried Almighty favour Until they divided by zero. Gather all your wits, Your silicon abbaci, and pointless pin heads… How long shall we go bikeshedding?
