Not only could every one of the 12 songs be done this way by someone as gifted as you, there’s an argument that every song should be done with this treatment. But not everybody could do this—this is an incredibly gifted mix.

The thing I really like is that the club feel is so immediate and non-gimmicky. The bass line and the piano are so very nice, and the way the instruments are placed in the mix is so very nice. This is one of my favorite two mixes of the Calendar Girl material thus far. The piano solo is very entertaining.

The Caravan of Dreams over in Fort Worth closed, or I’d think this was a live recording.

The very first note or two of the intro don’t sound as smooth as the rest, and I don’t know if the issue is my little Media Monkey player, the compression, or that the intro could be smoothed a bit.
But this mix is just absolutely stellar. Amazingly good. Superlatives I haven’t thought of would be appropriate if I could think of more.

It’s gorgeous. I’m an avid swing dancer and this one just perfect for a late night twirl around the floor.

Thanks for sharing!

Genius…! Impressive quality of production. It’s incredible how the voice of Calendar fits in so perfectly with those acoustic sounds, like horns or piano.

This brings out another side of cg’s voice. Very professional, but the odd rough edge left in helps with the ‘live’ feel. Great!

This is top shelf, this is class, this is jazz.

At the dawning point of recorded music, concert masters of major orchestras were up in arms because the live music that they produced would be frozen in recorded form. Fast forward to today when most music is recorded in bits and pieces and then reconstituted and mixed into a final piece of music.

This mix brings that process full circle. This mix is alive. I won’t repeat the previous comments on the keyboarding, the bass line, etc. It’s all there, all brilliant. CG sounds like a torch song siren. I can see her draped across the piano.

This is about as good as it gets.

I’d flood this with big thumbs but I don’t like what they do to the way the text looks. Maybe the admins can think of something a bit less graphically arresting.

Now you know how much I love yor ol stuff, LS. Period. Big Hairy Man, The End. But ol Fourstones says this here’s “jazz with a captital J”. Knowin, as I know you do, folks like Bird, Dizz, Miles, Coltrane, Prez, Duke, insert yor actual jazz giant here, what do you say? Capital J? Lower case J? J? Almost J? iJk? LMNOP? B? Q? I mean, I honestly love yor stuff, ol pal. Really. Honest. No shit. But Jazz with a capital j? Ya owe it to those (and I dont’ mean me, as I am an even bigger, more guilty hack-crafter) who merit a “capital” ta say somethin…anything. I mean, is this what it’s comin to?

ps: excellent, as usual. CG sounds fab. You are still the man in Remixville. Damn you.

Hello!

I just wanted to let you know that I used your song in my Internet radio program “Under the Radar,” featuring songs from CCMixter. At the moment, we’re only broadcasting on-campus, but write back to me (amoolin89@ AT care2.com) if you’d like to be informed when we go public!

Thanks, and keep up the great music!
