Grand and sweeping… One of my all time favorites on this site. “When I feel you take hold of my hand” feels like we’re all flying together. So good!!

Please get better soon :)))

He he, I do love your modesty. I empathize with being sidelined from work due to illness I was quarantined in my 20’s with chicken pox, kind of bizarrely amusing.

This track is lovely and cinematic as you say. The tech issues you mentioned were not noticeable to me, but I don’t have the gear to fix them so what do I know?

Very theatrical and emotive, as you say. Shannon’s vox are rather pure and it takes a bit of musical angst to bring their emotion front and center. You have done that here but not in an “in your face” sort of way, but rather more gentle and cinematic. Beautiful job (argh…) as always ;-), sigh…..

Hope to see you mix a few more of Shannon’s songs - like to see you on the record ;-).

Yep, this is soundtrack material; true love’s found and the good guys win. I guess it was a good thing for Seal your brutally honest friend wasn’t around to convince him “Kiss From A Rose” was “over the top”…

the first time i listened to this, i had not read your description. i kind of had a “whoa” moment when i heard the pitch shifted vocals, mostly since I had just spent hours listening to her vocals on that particular song. i did hear a little artifacting but it wasn’t enough to undermine the effort, and this is a really good effort. serious props for having the cajones to take this in a whole different direction the way you have.

This is (really nice)….. people don’t do (really nice) music anymore. I feel you on the Movie thing, I hear where you’re coming from. Nice work!!

Are those strings from Melodyne? I’ve been looking for some good string sounds for forever but have not really found some that sound as good as the ones your using.

Please let me know?….

Peace! ;)-

Hey Hellfire. The strings are East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Gold XP. You can checkout the demos at www.soundsonline.com. It’s a nice library but it takes up a huge amount of CPU and RAM. I have to bounce many of my orchestral tracks to audio just because my computer can’t handle running very many instances. To put things in perspective, the pros that use this library for movie scoring etc. have up to NINE (yes nine!) PCs running alongside their primary computer just to run this library. Scary!

It makes a lot of heat, the brain tells me I´m tired. I hear your mix and heat and boredom to be secondary. I want to hear this song again and again. Of course, the work is perfect and musically have a 10. Thanks

i was thinking of remixing this cut…i put the accapella on and no offence to Shannon, but it drove me NUTS!!! it’s just not my thing.
i had a quick go and then shelved it.
BUT…i thought i’d have a quick listen to other peoples approach…Lasswell, the way you have placed the accapella TRANSFORMS it from the original. i am going to go back into mine at some point soon and try BITING YO STEEZ!!!

thanks for the inspiration.
i needed it.

peace

I’ve been listening to this for several days and I love it. Really sets a mood. The music just soars and sweeps around the vocals. And wow, what you did with the vocals! A lotta work there, and beautifully done throughout, on all parts. Love those strings.
