Beautiful atmosphere. The bowling alley is something I’ve NEVER heard in ambient music. Overall NICE trip. Is this thematically referencing D. Bowie’s song “I’m Afraid of Americans”?

The August we went to Whistler, we took the ski lift up onto Blackcombe Mountain. At the top, the temperature was about freezing, and we wore discount warm tops we got for peanuts off-season in the ski store. After riding lifts on up to the places where people could ski even in the Summer, we began the descent.
The chill air and moist mahogany trees provided cover for singing birds. We saw marmot and a family of weasels. We alternated between sun and shade, feeling the chill goodness of the ambience cascade over us. We followed well-marked trails, but we felt we were discovering new places altogether. When we got to the bottom of the mountain, back into a civilization of tourist restaurants and asphalt hiking tracks, we felt as if we’d been to a place entirely familiar to us, and yet exotic beyond words. This remix takes me on a warm chill hike into an ambient place as familiar as the bowling alley, as alienated as the video store. An outstanding mix. |

the last two days, I have been loading up my ipod from ja knows what gen..with music that is older..and I had just finished putting on a few cd’s I haven’t heard in a while..and wondering why about that too.. when I get an email from ccM and listen to this beautifully structured tone masterpiece. This could have been on the cd’s I was loading ..a lot from NYC in the 80’s/ early 90’s..when things were more open..and interesting..and meant something..and SAID something too.
thanks for this T. |

The music in this one is so tuned to my taste in music that it’s scary.
The blend of harmonies and ambient sounds is just stellar, and you have an outstanding sense of build-up in a track. |

This is too cool for school. Dang this is pretty fantastic composition and I love the way you use the background to bring everything home.
