I was just about to write you! I spent a morning with it a few weeks ago, but then I’ve misarchived it.

Could you e mail it to me again? Sorry for the hassle ,but I really like it and want to do something with it—but I can’t figure out where I hid it!

Got it! It’s such a fun sample. I’m going to morph and marry and make merry with it, and see if I can put its essential beauty into service of a broader theme….:)

Thanks. I hoped that an edginess and a suspense would come out in the way the work progressed.

Quote: Wow. You’ve really got the sounds down now. If I didn’t know you better, I’d swear this was straight out of movie. Sounds very pro. : )

That’s very kind. I just do what little I can.

um, wow, am I just a wet blanket? for once I think there may be a touch too much harmonic movement in one of your pieces, namely the strings; or maybe it’s that they sound synthy and that’s bent my ear the wrong way. fwiw, if those were real (or "real enough") string I’d probably feel completely different; well, what can I say, some of your work reaches deep into me, this one had passing moments like that, but not overall.

This is a time when working virtually really is a disadvantage. What is required is a live chamber or cello run, but what we have instead is a synthviolin run. In a more ambient/electronic piece, then that can work, but I agree that in this piece, which is more self-consciously cinematic, not so much.

I am, of course, enamoured with the violin piece because it is a vocal morph, but I think that deep down I agree that process matters less here than sound.

Thanks for a useful critique.

wow

(it’s hard to write a review when words don’t fit)

A truly cinematic piece, masterfully executed, although I do agree about the strings.

bravo
