and the Funk Biscuit Flour Hour present Funky Mana Junkie putting the beat down on Patricia Edwards’ Better Off After hearing the percussive groove of Mana Junkie’s Little Boat remix, we asked for stems. MJ kindly provided them. Using stems 4 through 10 “as is”, we started building a remix. As the remix grew, we sliced, diced and moved sections of MJ’s stems to mo’ better fit the music. Nickleus’ snare was added to emphasize the back beat for most of the remix. For a counterpoint to the story line that you’re better off without me, phrases by Michael Burnz, i_rebel and offlinebouncer were added. Offlinebouncer’s voice was run through a vocoder as were some of the synth bass notes. ElRon recorded on his current favorite Washburn guitar.
