To be honest, this kind of heavy rock normally isn’t what I like to hear. But the bass line catched my attention and now I’m even listening twice…

Heavier rock beats and rhythms are new to me; not a genre on playlists. As a learning exercise, I have been working with heavier drums, bass and guitar sounds. One more style on the project studio palette to fuse with others.

I’m certainly not equipped to give mastering or mixing tips. But I did enjoy listening and really liked how the Byrne/Eno sample came in and how you integrated it with the funky guitar bit.

I misread this as “Texas Rock” (i.e. Texan brand of rock and roll), heh. But this was a nice surprise in any case. Not so much “heavy rock” in my list but something new. Maybe, “Rap Rock” or “Rap Metal”.

[additional comment: would love to try something with your stems, if you ever upload them. Cheers!]
