I must acquire “field” for my very own. When I first heard the Institute sample, I thought someone would put it to good use, and you certainly have.

The melody and rhythm are solid. The vocoder gives the affair a vaguely Buggles sound. I love the first Buggles album!

This is a great song. Simply great.
No suggestions here—only do more like this. Perhaps in an earlier life you were a vocoder.

Awesome track. To me it sounds like the last song in a movie before the closing credits. I can’t wait for the sequel. ;)

I had an urge to listen to this one again today. It keeps growing on me.

just awesome… one of the best new songs I’ve heard in a long time… The vocal/lyrics are so tender & deep - I don’t usually like vocoder, but I like this a lot, and I love the music, especially after the vocal’s done….. .. .

hey thanks Ran Dumb Dots! yeah vocoder effects are a tricky bit. can come out sounding really cheesy or just out of place. one thing that helped me get the vocals ‘placed’ properly with the rest of the song was to use my original non-vocoded vocals on top of the vocoded ones. it instantly helped ‘warm up’ the feel of the vocals and smoothed it all out.

I’m not going to rate this because everybody really loves it and it is completely off my genre/taste radar.

But… I did want to drop by and say it’s an awesome production and really glad you uploaded it here.

lol…well, thank you for the kind words fourstones. i’m really glad i have ccmixter as an ‘outlet’ for my hobby. the constructive criticism here is invaluable to advancing an artists production skills, and the praise for ‘job well done’ is inspiration to keep creating.

Absolutely brilliant track that brought back memories of depeche mode and ultravox for me. The lyrics struck a note within and the audio production is top notch. With artists like you, MC Jack, teru, shagrugge and everyone else .. makes ccmixter the perfect place for wannabes like me. Thank you for your music!

hey thanks amby.z…i’m glad my track struck a chord with you. (hehe) It’s all one big learning experience man. We all gotta start somewhere. The thing with music as an artist is that it’s the journey that is the reward. There is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow…if you’re lucky, the rainbow doesn’t end! :)
