A public television series presented an episode devoted to the cuttlefish.

This intelligent mollusk uses a colorful display to dazzle its intended prey.

I first learned of the cuttlefish (and its relative the nautilus) as a boy, when reading Jules Verne’s novel 20,000 Leagues under the Sea.

Cuttlefish live but a year or two.
They possess surprising courage and more than a bit of wisdom. They produce novels colors and unorthodox patterns.

This song is made with thanks to mixter MiElle, whose wonderful spoken word track “Aimée ?” was the starting point for this song. The song swam in a different direction, becoming less of a love song than a love for cephalopods song, but I hope to do a proper remix for “Aimée ?” some time soon.

Thanks to the software creator kriminal productions, whose Felix freeware synth is one voice used herein.

Thanks also to the Tornados, whose song “Telstar” influences my approach to many things in life.
