The jazz club was the Caravan of Dreams, and Fort Worth was never Fort Worth as long as a great jazz bar like the Caravan existed. The piano would have fit there, but this emcee is from a different club altogether, the kind of rural blues club where the vocalist is announcing BB’s arrival, and the crowd pauses and says “BB!”, but wait, it’s not BB yet, the DJ is speaking and going made on the turntable and BB pauses, and let’s the turntable and vocals spin, and everyone is awash in the soul fun of it all.

The smooth, electric-blue shockwave of the mix cuts through the air like the sound of a blues guitar improbably definining so many words with wordless sounds, and above the sounds there are words, which serve as the DNA instrumental to the expresssive melody.

I love the way that this club’s speakers are set so that I can hear this there and that here and it’s as if it’s 1975 and it’s quadrophonic and the emcee/DJ is smiling, and BB has downed tool for the night, and the horns just flat out play.

I agree with Shimoda. This is really fun to listen to. Nice the way you went in and out of various grooves. That piano sound in the beginning section might come down a bit on the volume but not a huge issue. Thanks for the remix!
