.
Thank you, CSoul! Isn’t that just a fantastic line from debbizo?? She’s so amazing with words.

the treatment is excellent, with the interplay of the two vocal parts… Deb’s and yours, which sounds like dialogue, and the drums and deep bass are effective, leaving on the grace note of a major seventh on the acoustic guitar.
|
.
Right on. I was going for a call and response feel with the vox. I’m glad the bass stood out too… I was pretty happy with it. Thank you, Admiral.

Nice bass line and spritely percussion to propel a well edited spoken word. Good balance.

.
Thank you, Speck! Editing vocals could probably be considered my specialty… glad it worked here.

Very nice Kara. I like the way both your spoken words intertwine. I would have like to hear that acoustic at the end more :)

I could not understand 100% (im not good at english), but I get the point. Very deep and pleasant.
The music behind the vox is wonderful, and the voices are very softly. I enjoyed a lot your mix, Kara, very nice work |
.
Thank you, DICE. (I’m not as good at remixing as I wish I were… I try hard though.)

Yes, I dig! Thank you Kara, another great remix…didn’t you draw me once before? With ‘ Tumbling Dice’ - you did a great job with the melody samples!
|
.
Awesome…! I did draw you before… yup, ‘Tumbling Dice.’ I’m glad and relieved that you like it! I love working with your voice and samples… esp. that sad lil’ uke. The harp melody is so beautiful too… I just HAD to make it work. :)

Really love the two voices and the shifting groove backup. Not sure about the acoustic guitar at the end. Are you reciting your words, or a poem of Debezio. The voices and the text are great.
|
.
You know, I debated on the ending… I cut and pasted this track to mix with Deb’s spoken word. It started as curiosity… to see if it would work… both spoken words have the same title. Thanks for listening, Haskel.

This is a great piece Kara. I love the concept and you executed it so very well — the words, your voices. Hypnotic. Compelling. And right in line with some of things I have been contemplating lately regarding body consciousness. Bravo! (and I would recommend but it appears that Mr. Haskel got there first… .)

Thank you, Susan! It was a tough mix for me… (I’m not naturally a remixer…) It’s nice to hear that it worked.

I Think it was pungo or Suffolk somewhere where I saw it… A big sign for a small shop… TATTOOS .
Then right next to it, another small shop with a large sign…TATTOO REMOVAL! |
.
HA! Awesome. This piece makes me seem like I’m mega-inked or something… Really, I only have a few small ones. And the one I’m referring to in the poem is the kanji for ‘mother’… a memorial of sorts for her…

Mmmm. Very intelligent and emotional, a good combination. And Deb’s voice always makes me melancholic regardless of the subject. Feels like eavesdropping on a personal and intimate conversation. A fine mix.
|
.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts…It’s quite challenging for me to do remixes… esp. of another pella provider. I’m glad the intimacy and emotion came through… that was my primary goal. Thanks for listening, timberman!

This is a beautifully sympathetic treatment, Kara. Your poems are made for each other and you’ve very subtly woven together some very diverse samples from Deb as well. A lot of debbi’s work is very dense (I mean this in the nicest possible way Deb!) and in this case a lot of the lines are classics & benefit from being reiterated. Very fine work from both of you!
|
.
Well geez, that’s sure kind. Thank for listening and commenting, Rob. I think it’s the songwriter in me that likes to repeat things… find a hook. It’s nice to hear that it worked with this piece.

Subtle combination of voices and nice drumbass. The choice of the samples was good too. I like this, you got talent…

.
Thank ya’, Anandamine! I’m really more of a singer-songwriter than remixer, so the encouragement is always appreciated. :)
