Good way to describe it. I really only used 12 tracks on this with most of them being the drums.

Nice emo-with-a-beat mix. Perfect vocal selection. Well done.

You’ve managed to make something new and sparkling in the dark with old pieces of song and hope.

Thank you very much for this dark and lovely lightning bug.

Thank you for the source material. There was almost too much good stuff to pick from. For this, I was trying to capture what it would be like without the insects such as the firefly flying around. It’s hard to present in music that but that’s why I ended with the nature sound and did a quick fade. That is also why I chose that particular vocal sample which was originally a love song I believe but it seem to fit for this too.

Such a thoughtful, lovely atmosphere. Heartfelt, beautiful and captivating. Gorgeous mix.

Thank you. This almost went more towards a funky sound but the atmospheric string sample from CSM wouldn’t let me.

Yes. Somber. Dark. And pretty. The kind of music that is comforting to have around.

Thank you. I didn’t want to go too dark so I removed and rearranged a few things and realized CSMs vocals were actually brightening up the piece.

Dark, but enough light to keep me smiling:)

Glad to hear. I figured fireflies come out at night so I just went with the song having a darker tone to it. I spent a few years in FL when I was a kid and remember fireflies quite well. I tried to capture the nearly magical feeling I remember having.

Very pretty music, tender yet strong, I think it’s brilliant that you bookended the track with fireflies. :)

Thank you Loveshadow. They were originally a love song which I borrowed to turn into a nature/human relationship song.

Thank you Kara. I was delighted to be teamed up with her. I must say we never really crossed paths so I didn’t realize she had such a large amount of very high quality music.

Now this one really evoked that hot summer torpor…I didn’t find it somber, more…lyrical. And ditto Apoxode’s comment on the bookending. Much enjoyed!
