When mixter and netlabels began, I thought they would change everything. But I remain hopeful that change will come nonetheless. Great spoken word piece about the connections wanted, needed and sometimes found.

Even some time before that, when internet arose (the time when google still used the phrase “Don’t be evil”), we did believe that the internet will help all people to find true knowledge because it is available for free now.

Now we do have propaganda bots, telegram tin-hats and tiktok. Not to mention how streaming cripled music even more than radio did. While radio enforced the three-minute-remix streaming removed all of a build up that was still existing…

Ah, the good old time. When the grass was green, the air was bright and the future looked shiny. :)

Both poignant and hopeful, a sobering reflection on the past decades.
Takes my breath away to realise what ccMixter *predates*.
Thank you for sharing your perspective on where we are all at—extra bonus points for adding the pell :)

you’ve always been a prophetic voice in our community. a visionary. you’ve taken your wisdom to a new level here.

i still believe we can make a change for good in the world too.

and your admonition about the phone was received as truth in my heart.

“it think its time we deepen our relationships” — yes i feel this.

i love the Redwoods. one of the most sacred places on this beautiful earth IMHO.

this was the last track i listened to tonight — after listening to music for more than 9 hours today. you closed out an incredible celebration of music with this meditation.

“we are not alone.” as you speak these lines 2 tiny geckos climb my wall and look right at me.

thank you for this beautiful gift on this very special day.

Some great thoughts to chew on. How do we make it work for us? Our instincts that we could do new and cool things with technology was probably right. But we’ve made an alternative to reality, not the supplement to it, the “real air” as you say. Maybe it is enough to breathe deep and slow down? Who can say.
