Hard to go too far wrong with Mr. Ellinas at your elbow. And yes that is not the usual garden variety vocoder application.

I’ll praise your restraint on this because you could’ve easily gone overboard with all kinds of nonsense but you kept it focused which made it work all the better.

Timeless and catchy as je ne sais pas quoi. Usually associate vocoder too much with the 90’s,though but your moderate use here really fits hand in glove and lifts the mix.
