Please, please..play again with your arpeggiator..! Completely weird, but completely genius..Love it..Love it…Love the atmosphere, love all those sounds, those little details. The balance and the mixing are (for my taste), really better (maybe just a little disto on the piano on the intro..or is it just me..?). The chorus is sumptuous. And you sing better and better ( except some notes of the lead, which are sometimes a little bit “limit..limit”). Many righ and original ideas in this song, many..!
It’s you..completely you..! You are…you are so…aahh !! I don’t find the words, but i’ll tell you one day..soon.. “Kenavo”..! |

yes there was distortion on the piano, pre-meditated and planned, the vocals were very percussive,a little angry I guess. I try to make music like those quiet fairy girls, but instead a very loud and angry siren takes over—- oh well.

I really enjoyed the energy, mood, and textures- maybe it’s just my personal taste, but I think there needs to be a bit more “glue” between the vocals and the instrumental track for this to really reach its full potential.

I always appreciate your sensibilities… on this one, it’s muddled. It’s actually part of a whole album of work; I uploaded it here because it involved freesound files, was technically a remix etc etc… In the context of the record ‘kenavo’ it makes more sense, an exploration of pathos, sexual pathology, disparity—- this is the album’s mantra. But I think, yes, this is not necessarily a style that suits my voice, which I think causes the disconnect. I delivered it in a robotic, sort of silver female android way, except for a little breakdown, I don’t know, perhaps it could have used a bit more time on the back burner, anyways….

Thanks; I guess what I meant was not so much how your performance sits against the track per se, but rather the mixing- the panning works nicely, but I kept wanting to lower either the vox, or some of the high-freq FX stuff back a bit, or have a more hollow plate-reverb on the vox. Granted, of course I haven’t heard it in context as you mentioned, and it’s not like people pay me to offer my two cents- believe me, there’s no odor of roses wafting gently from my backside ;)

well, I haven’t sniffed you as of late, but
DAMNIT I wanted more reverb on this too and my friend who helped me mix it said no no clean. I had to argue for the delay on the 2nd vocal track. Blahhh, I think maybe I am better off in my apartment with my 12 year old giving me mixing advice—seriously. |

Non, non, non, your friend is right..Don’t abuse of the reverb, your voice doesn’t need it (remember the last work of Furkosbot, any effect on your voice..). Try to work the sound of the mixing around your voice and no the reverse..

As you know i’m a big FAN of the voice. I love all the different things you have going on here. The birds, the drums, the keys, that bass….. so damn cool….so u. My only problem is, at times ( not much) i feel like the voice gets lost a bit here and there. Just my own personal taste but i want to hear you up front .
Other than that…. LOVE IT. |
