Ardour for editing, Audacity for bass boosting, and ZynAddSubFX Software Synthesiser for synthesising.
Original Samples
Some harmonica and a bit o' monotone synthesiser.
Process
I started with the accordion and made everything gel with that. Shannon's voice was easy to jam in, but I had to stretch out and fiddle with the breakbeat and the strings sample to make then fit. After putting all that together I felt like it needed some punch, so I amplified, edited, and boosted the bass on the breakbeat, and added a low tone from the synthesiser.
Then I added the harmonica because... Well, because I felt like it.
Other Notes
I like it, but I feel like I could have done more. Some time I might come back to this and do more with the synthesiser and the harmonica.
