Funkin’ Bueno Jazz was created by layering funkin’ horn bandin’ jazz fusin’ sounds on top of a somewhat victimized slap bass track by Martijn de Boer.

Martijn’s lower bass track edits are relegated to the passages on the one chord, E. All F and Eb notes were changed to the root note, E. The A passage remained largely unscathed accept for cutting and pasting sections to sustain drive. The upper bass track was not used.

On the guitar recording, ElRon went for a early Steely Dan sound using a gadget modeling of a 12” cabinet. Googled the amp Larry Carlton used and reamped using a model of similar 1960s Fender Deluxe.

After running the loop through Izotope Trash 2, Speck’s Garage Perc Loop 4a was used to add drive to the intro and break. Intro and break bass riff was created by chopping, pitching and pasting two samples from our library.

Used the “oohs” with the horns because it reminded me of Sergio Mendez Brazil ‘66 and I like that memory.

“He’s on the jazz man” voice sample attributed to Paul69samples as part of “rave samplz” package circa 2006, which no longer seems accessable through sites that don’t upset Malwarebytes. Paul69’s site upsets Malwarebytes as well.
