As the days have gotten shorter since summer solstice, I have entered my own dark night of the soul. Some of you have helped me on a personal level through this journey, and I thank you, and ccMixter on a whole, for providing light and comfort in darkness.

I wrote this song this morning while I was thinking of how I could say thank you to Susan, and soon thoughts extended to my entire ccM family.

I have a bad cold, so my vocals aren’t as clear as normal. Maybe it adds a bit of style (hoping??)?

Again, a special thanks to SackJo22, go1dfish, essesq, Admiral Bob, Gurdonark, Loveshadow, fourstones, and of course my dear spinningmerkaba, for carrying me to the other side. Also, I give heartfelt appreciation to all of you that remixed Goodbye Wells Fargo.

Straight to the Light

Darkness changes
You again
A heavy burden
Weighs you down
But look around
There must be an end

You’ve been lifted up
By the arms of a friend

Time is turning
Pushing you through
This endless night
With hope emerging
Pulling your heart to the light

Candles burning
Illuminate
Doubt-filled corners
The coldest soul
Can feel the glow
Of love over hate

You’ve been lifted up
By a new kind of faith

Time is turning
Pushing you through
This endless night
With hope emerging
Pulling your heart to the light

Walk straight to the light
Straight to the light

Something stirs inside
Gratitude replacing pride
You’ve been lifted up
By a friend
Who carries you
To the other side

Time is turning
Pushing you through
This endless night
With hope emerging
Pulling your heart to the light

Time is turning
Pushing you through
This endless night
With hope emerging
Pulling your heart to the light

Walk straight to the light
Straight to the light
Out of the night
Straight to the light

4/4 time - 60 BPM (although has a 6/8 feel which I think would be around 170-175 BPM)

key of C

only three chords in varying order: C F am
