I went ahead and separated the verse and the chorus, the single track vocals are still available in mp3. Sorry for the majorly long dead air on the chorus vocals. I just took them out so that if you play the two tracks simultaneously they will line up properly the way that I originally had them in the song. Of course please slice, dice, make julienne fries to your hearts’ content. :)

Lyrics:

Slipped back the cover on my soul
Please say that you can come inside
I can tell you darling, all these things are true
She told me she can’t wait to find you
What’s it going to take to make you see?
What’s it going to take to make you believe me
That I’m deep inside the part that never dies?
The part that still believes
In life after death.

Sound off on stories now grown cold
These lies that permeate these days
We live in paintings by impressionists
Who fell in love too late.
I gave you everything I had
I’m so addicted to
This self-fulfilling emptiness, too far
They’ll never hear us now.

Oh God, don’t you take her away.
I’ll ask you once, twice,
Three times, four times

Slipped back the color on my heart
Please say that you can come inside
I’m afraid that everything you said is true
She told me she can’t wait to find you.
What’s it going to take to make you see?
What’s it going to take to make you believe me?
Everything I say gets twisted up
but you can take it all the wrong way.

Oh God, don’t you take her away.
I’ll ask you once, twice,
Three times, four times.

So please believe in every word I’m saying
(I don’t even believe it all myself, sometimes)
I will always keep a part of you inside of me
Inside the part of me that never dies.
The part that still believes in life after death.

Stayed off the beatings and the drugs
These lies that permeate my life
I saw you standing there, I saw you standing there.
Words fall like pebbles to the floor.
My mouth is filling up with stone.
I fell the longest drop of all.

Oh God, don’t you take her away.
I’ll ask you once, twice,
Three times, four times.
