Great prog remix. Excellent sound and production. I love progs riff here and there. Great drum track too. The trumpet adds an interesting touch. Ufff.. great, great, great.

Thanks! I needed to spice it up little with something not too obvious and found Timberman’s great trumpet track which did the trick for me.

Awesome. Very radio friendly but I definitely hear more of a mature Rush…Red Barchetta…Tom Sawyer thing goin on. Very much enjoyed!

Great song, arrangement and production. You are obviously a very talented guy.

P.S.: The synth bass at the end actually made me think of 80’s Saga (The Beginner’s Guide To Throwing Shapes?).

Thanks for the kind words. Saga, Rush and Yes are the ones that were in my mind while doing it. There may be elements also from other similar bands, but haven’t spotted them yet. ;)

If it makes Subliminal think of early Saga, it makes me think of Gentle Giant’s last album, Civilian which timewise clocks in quite at the same time. The bass is so typical of that whole era when progrock became pop. Also, I can’t help thinking about Finnish band Ultra Bra, a group I was so fond of that I once travelled to Helsinki for the sole reason to buy their records. Enough of nostalgia because this track stands proudly on its own merits. The production is stunning, so is the arrangement and the energy is just lovely. Genuine craftmanship, pro work, nice to be part of it.

Thanks and also thanks for that lovely trumpet. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I can spot some “Civilian” in there also. Civilian was one of my last vinyl purchases - went for CDs soon after it. (still Octopus is in my “One of the greatest albums ever” -list)

Great fusion of pop, Zep and Yes circa early 1980s.

Ditto, ditto, ditto to the above praise. What I find particularly fantastic is how it does have all the references listed above, but stays fresh and current throughout.
