A great song, with great airy production. For three minutes, you sure hit up the Muse pretty good!

Hi Bob and thanks for the feedback—much appreciated. I dunno, the idea for this song suddenly appeared and I got it down straightaway. Just demo-ing the song idea really—if any other vocalist wanted to take it further that’s OK by me.

Great! Downloaded it in my ‘let’s try and see what happens’ map ;-)
The Smiths were/are great, and so are you, uploading this ‘raw’ material and asking for input.

Hi and many thanks indeed for this! Great—hope you can do something with this. Most, if not all, my uploads are spontaneous and quickly done without much preparation. I like to record these “sketches” to preserve them, and in the hope that someone else might develop them. Thanks again for the feedback—much appreciated. And yeah, The Smiths were great—some amazing songs they wrote.

Just to let you know that I’ve added two further vocal “takes” to the Downloads section. Thanks again!

I’m a big Smiths fan and I think this is fab, especially if it’s just a ‘sketch’ - you’ve defintely captured the feel of that style, even a touch of The Cure and Sisters of Mercy I think. I’ve got some ideas for this, I’ll get to work!

Hi and thanks for this. Yeah, I love The Smiths and kind of miss them sometimes! The chords and words came almost instantaneously and I busked the vocals, reading the words from hastily scribbled notes in a single first take—but I have now added two further vocal takes to the Downloads section, so maybe a composite vocal track could be made? I’m no Johnny Marr but I think there’s enough guitar stuff going on for a rhythm track. The drums were just a preset on a vst plug-in—‘nuff said. I was aiming for a kind of “Hatful of Hollow” vibe, and tried to get the usual mix of Northern dourness, despondency, relationship-ambiguity etc. for the lyrics. Anyway, really glad you like it and hope you can do something! Thanks again!

No need to redo the vocals - the rawness is great, that’s what despondency’s all about after all!

OK, fair enough, and well said! Actually I just added two further vocal takes to the Downloads section. My thinking was to offer the option of making a composite vocal track. Anyway, thanks again and glad you liked!
