Remixing Video?

permalink   Mon, Mar 19, 2012 @ 2:34 PM
I know there are folks in our community who film, edit and produce film and video. Guess I’m wondering, how many people in our community are interested in remixing video stems, along with music stems? :)

You mean video editing. Same concept but video instead of audio.

Cool idea, looks interesting;

yes, exactly :) seems like it may be something our community would also be good at?
permalink   Snowflake Tue, Mar 20, 2012 @ 7:54 PM
you could remix the audio first, for your remix video!

Maybe, at least learn to be good at :)

I see great potential
Videoclips, interviews, storytelling.
Collaboration, musicals,…
It could drive the community to the next level.

i think it seems like a natural evolution. our music ends up in so many videos anyway, why not be part of the creation, especially if we can get video components under CC license? :)

Snowflake , speaking of evolution, some ccmixter backing has started appearing on wikimedia video, where it can be readily downloaded. I know. I posted some.

I have posted some CC-BY under my youtube name BEDPANNER. If you have an account you can harvest them by clicking edit this video and publish to your own site. My material is either original or has links with license info. Of course you should read the YOUTUBE terms of reference first - while they offer the capability their policy is firmly against broadcasting harvested content.

I really like this idea, and have been looking into programs. Really would like to have some music videos up for septahelix.

Are there any programs one might suggest?

I was working on a similar concept, but from the other direction. I am learning to make short movies. I went from using images from existing commercial movies with commercial music to making my own images using creative commons music. I usually look around for music that fits with the images to make a story..Since last year I moved towards creative commons resources for music.
This year I was aiming to gain more control over the music/sound.. that is why I recently joined cc-mixter.
I have still to learn a lot (and not enough time to do it fast, because I have to do it in my spare time), but I would be interested to find out what would be needed to take this a step further.

Hey there ;-)
Well, the last year i’ve also give it a try……
Mostly with “borrowed” ;-) snippets out of Utube or somfin available at the net.
The new net-policy of youtube/gema/acta ect. makes it harder to get, combine and to publish IYKWIM !!!
In the beginning of the year i’ve bought a small camcorder. Will try to do some selfmade Vids…

The follwing vids were made with a nice small and self-explanatory Freeware-tool named… Video-Pad-Editor
I’m still using it, it’s really errm handy !!

Ok…first here’s one of my latest songs..with lended snippets, though..

Previously i’ve visualize some songs of my former band “Testfish”
Dis is one of my favorites ;-)
(take a search on Utube, there’re some more !!)

Usually I’m interested in that, but ….unfortunately Vid-edititing takes a lot of time, which is really limited, these days :-(

Cheers…..n take care ;-)

Groovy compilation. I am a little nervous around third party content as you are never sure whether the uploader had persmisson to post. I have started a group on vimeo for Attribution only tracks
