I really dig the minimalist electro-funk instrumental, very jarring but still hotness, the type of beat you want to hear hot lyrics to.

The ending was a nice touch, definitely a different approach and it worked for me.

I think the pell could be synched a little better to the beat, but maybe you wanted this effect, it sounds like you put your work in.

Besides that, I dig it.

Thanks for stopping by to comment. Always nice when the featured artist makes a comment.

Also it was remiss of me in my notes not to comment on the great vocal that inspired the mix.

OK then. Deleted my previous comment ( great to able to do that isn’t it ? ) and leaving this one

It feels like you are out of your depth here. There is an edge to this pella that a half time mechanical type electro type loop does nothing to support.

I appreciate you taking it on but the comment on Esses page about doing better and me knowing it in this case applies here (although i would not have said that had you not drawn it out )

Rap has its own melody its just not notes in the classic sense but in what is said and the timing of it. A good mix will expose the punch lines so the message comes thru. To be honest i can’t hear what the message is over the clockwork beat.

I could do this pella but quite honestly i need to understand it before i take it on. I could put up ten different loops and sync it but it don’t think it would be any good.

If anything this mix demonstrates the under appreciation for what rap is and does.

Its another mix for you and a stepping stone, but i think you need to work your apprenticeship a little more and feel what is being said before you can do it well.

There hows that. :-)

and again merry xmas.

Ah you can be a very bitter man when you want to be!!

I appreciate your honesty but I think it only shows your lack of musical depth.

Music for me is about exploring new avenues not taking the middle road that your music always does.

Your comments reflect your attitude to music which is why you keep producing stuff which whilst technically very nice hardly pushes the boundaries.

I am happy that the man who wrote the lyrics and knows what he is talking about as he does the biz liked what I produced and others concurred.

You really need to stop copying musical stereotypes if you are to get people to start paying for your stuff in a big way or you’ll always have to feed your ego on sites like this.

Some of us come here to explore our music but I think you just come for a pat on the back.

Anyway as I said your honesty is appreciated so I hope you take these comments the same way.

This is so much better than all the nice stuff!!

yea, as long as you guys keep it about the music we’re cool with that.

we’re still talking about the music, right? (that’s rhetorical - let’s all just dial it back a notch, eh? thanks)

well its a clean opinion i have stated above about the mix unfortunately RT cant help but return it to a personal level. Shame. Delete the lot if it all looks bad.

What i also note RT is that you have found only two other mixes out of all the great stuff on this site worth recommending surely not ? :-(

I’m Digging what you put together here. BUT I feel as though you have a few minor sync problems and Like it was said before CB could be a little louder.
I would have done a few things differently but, that’s what i love about this site, we all see things a bit differently but that doesn’t mean my way would have been the right way for you.
Nice work RT.
PEACE

Thanks for the positive input.

Yes the syncing is out a bit but I felt it gave the piece a more edgy feel which was what I was after.

As you say we all see things differently which is what sharing music is about but you can never stop learning so any helpful advice or opinion is always welcome.

Thanks again.

not a real review here just stopped by to say I listened on laptop speakers and sounds really fun. At least as good if not better than the album version.

Quote: I appear to have upset a few people.

you have no idea lol. I haven’t read all the reviews you’ve left but everything I’ve read seems straight forward reactions and non-personal which should be fine (I really am not a person to give advice on reviewing - unless you like stalkers)

Victor’s right, this is a fun listen, fits the pella well, my only complaint is the hook and crash cymbals seem to obscure the vox a bit, but maybe that’s what you were going for- please don’t boil my cat or anything ;)

But for the dedication, I would have skipped commenting on this mix because it is simply not a style I appreciate, which is a neutral comment on the good vs. bad continuum.

But peace on Earth and good will toward mixers is all I can say. Hopefully I can come up with something for the Mixter that floats your boat RT. But it’s gotta float mine first :-).
