Lovely melody and words (who wrote it?) - and I really like the straightforward delivery.
I’ve just done a mix and would love to know what you think. |

Thank you so much for the beautiful beautiful (did I mention beautiful) remix.
You have perfectly captured what has always haunted me about this song. When I first wrote it it was meant to be a lament for love not meant to be. But the more I sing it the more it becomes about hope and moving on. Your remix allows it to be both at the same time…which is how I think it was meant to be. I can’t thank you enough for making everything perfect. Yvonne |

I very much enjoyed working with this wonderful lyric combined with oldDog’s fabulous piano.
Thanks for working on cleaning up the quality, you might want also to post an additional version of a completely dry vocal. This has been requested in the past of my contributions - it’s easier for remixers to work with something dry and add their own effects. It’s also easier for them to clean up any pops or scratches on a dry signal. |

Thanks again for the remix and the advice. I’m not too “up” on the recording end of things so I’ll check with our audio guy (Teru).
I think he normally uploads the vocals dry? But then again what do I know….I tend to tune him out as he rants at me about why cats should not be in the studio during recording (apparently meowing is really hard to remove); to stop singing to myself and record something already; and last but not least BPM BPM BPM. Is it really my fault if I can dance and sing on beat but for the love of God I can’t play to a click track! :) |

No problem, the nice thing about the ccMixter community is that most people are super-keen to help, and you have a top buddy there in teru :)
The vocal in this case had a stereo delay, which I actually quite liked so I didn’t bother trying to remove it. When I’ve done vocal uploads in the past I’ve tried to include a demo with effects and one without for remixing. As for the tuning thing, don’t worry. Folks like Neil Young have made a career out of singing slightly sharp or flat ;) lol I like the vocal a great deal, and don’t see any reason to change it :) ….then again, I’d re-do all of mine, lol :) As long as we all improve with each upload, we’ll get there in the end….so get to it! :D |

Your voice touches me. Here are the lyrics as I hear them:
I left you in the forrest just the other day we shiny chatted, traded smiles and just as easy we were friends and I wonder what I will do today Oh! I wonder what I’ll do today You made me laugh, you had me running scared you kept the loneliness at bay and now you’re gone and it’s alright and I wonder what I’ll do today you called and said sweet nothings in my ear but then you called and called again too fast to tense the walls were closing in and I wonder what I’ll do today Oh! I wonder what I’ll do today A whirlwind romance never meant to last you wanted more than I could give now a sinner all alone in my room and I wonder what I’ll do today I’m very sorry you were decieved I didn’t mena to lead you on but I’m glad the sories at and end and I wonder what I will do today Oh! I wonder what I’ll do today |
.
They are lovely lyrics - here’s my take:
I met you in the park just the other day We shyly chatted, traded smiles. Just as easy. we were best friends then I, wonder what I’ll do today Oh I wonder what I’ll do today You made me laugh, you had me running scared You kept the loniless at bay But now you’re gone it’ alright and I Wonder what I’ll do today Oh I wonder what I’ll do today You called and said sweet nothings in my ear But then you called and called again Too fast, too tense, the walls were closing in and I Wonder what I’ll do today Oh I wonder what I’ll do today A whirlwind romance never meant to last You wanted more than I could give And now I sit alone in my room and I Wonder what I’ll do today Oh I wonder what I’ll do today I’m very sorry you were deceived I didn’t mean to lead you on But I’m glad the story’s at an end and I Wonder what I’ll do today Oh I wonder what I’ll do today |
