Right on, this is nice!
Old skool acid-techno vibe, like circa ‘90 so :)

Usually if you add the preview afterwards, it defaults to the first file uploaded list.
couple things to try:
manually move the preview to the top in “manage files”
set its file type as “preview”
or both.
if that doesn’t sort it, let us know …
good luck!

On the pc I was able to reorder the files.

To be honest the song should have some heavier acid. But the batteries of my new Korg Volca Nubass were empty - and I find it still a little bit hard to handle, to I did not attach the power supply. :)

Right on, I’m glad it’s working for you!
Sounds great, and would sound awesome in a set, add some jacking vocals and gradual cut-off, good to go :)

Any idea which vocals could fit? And what do you mean with “cut-off”? Simply silencing some parts of the bass at the right places?

No, I mean in a dj set, you can transition into a track with jacking vocals like classic acid house.
cut-off meaning tracks where there’s knob tweaking like on a 303. that gradual clockwise turn with increasing resonance.
with yours, you could do a “hypnotize” vocal sample and jack it.
for the acid, probably a second bassline with call and response, though yours could work too.
I’m guessing your bass is a square wave? those sound good flanged with resonance.
anyway, just ideas, and since you left enough room with it, is bound to get a remix :)

Think I’m understanding it now. “Jacking vocals” means something like “Pumping or pushing” vocals? Tried to translate it with google translate and the result was - well - irritating. If you are not at work, you might translate “Jacking vocals” to german and the result back again to english. :)

On my devices cut-off is used for the filter frequency. But (once again) I think I got your point now.

That’s once again way to many technical terms for me… :) You’re way ahead of me.

In fact the bass is a pretty weird catastrophe. I fed the output of a DFAM oszillator (that once was a squarewave) into the Mavis’keyboard in and let I be mangeled there a little bit. It is pretty close to the DFAM’s input but way deeper. Think I found another nice tweak which I’ll upload soon…

Hi again, I need to clarify what I mean by “jacking vocals” (sorry for the confusion btw)
It’s pretty much rapidly retriggering a sample so that you only hear the first part being stuttered for a second, like a jackhammer. Kind of like a snare roll.
Lots of early acid house did this
this isn’t the best example cause I can’t immediately think of anything else, but it shows what I mean in the early part of the track.

Yeah, jacking as a form of dancing means something entirely different though lol

for “call and response” I mean for each bar in your bassline it starts in one octave and then goes up another — as you add resonance you get that chirpy sound in the high notes.

hope that helps :)

Thanks for explaining - and the remix demonstrating the techniques. Love what you made out of this skeletton.
