I dig a lot! Love the orchestration and the bells! Beautful work Kara, this is just excellent! I love the character of this track, the dignity somehow. It would work very good as a procession. Lead by incredible Mr. Yesterday Cash.

What I like best is that this mix is so much Kara and so much Mr. Yesterday.
Great combo you two. Excellent. And I fully agree to Hans. |

Thank you so much, Siobhan. :)

A very effective instrumental change-up. I’ve been diggin’ Mr Yesterday for some time now but had forgotten about this one. Well done.
Coincidentally I just finished watching a documentary about the Oklahoma City bombing/Timothy McVeigh and somehow this is the perfect accompaniment to the feeling it left me with. |

Thank you very much, Speck! I image this would be rather fitting for such a doc. Very interesting…

We need to prove the Drake equation is real or were sol? Nice use of sound/words…got me thinking.

Thank you, soundtails! This got me thinking, too… So much to ponder regarding human-nature….

Wow, Kara, how apropos and right back atcha! I am still chuckling as I relisten to this.
I thought at first you’d channeled two of my faves… Speck and annabloom…to brew up some kind of Renaissance dirge. I didn’t even recognize my own MIDI tracks. And there is this march/procession thing happening, all coming I think from your inspired instrumentation. Reading Hans Atom’s note got me thinking about paintings by Bruegel and Bosch: definitely artists able to tap the hard-wired… Then soundtails mentions the Drake Equation—which intersects my current wikiGong performance project, Silentium Universi (the Fermi Paradox)—well, now I’m in orbit. Wow. Oh, and thumbs |
.
I’m so happy that you’re diggin’ this, Mr_Y! Thank you so much!
Is your wikiGong performance project online? I’m very curious… |
|
.
We’re in the pre-production phase right now but if all the stars align we’ll debut it at “ SoundPedro” in Long Beach in early June. Overextension and delusional optimism are the wikiGong stock-in-trade but we *should* start blogging about progress pretty soon…

Awesome! Thank you for sharing your project. I’m totally going to explore your wikiGong site.

The string melody that opens this track, and weaves beyond, is brilliant! This hard and powerful vocal -juxtaposed with the beauty of the strings and chimes while all the while marching with the militant drums - is a protest anthem for our time. You can tell you really worked hard on this one — and it shows!!! Bravo!!!
