Has anyone else realized that we have our very own Johnny Cash here on ccMixter? Seriously… while listening to Mr_Yesterday’s vocals and songwriting, I couldn’t get this thought outta my head. Anyway, what a talented Mixter! I did my best to do his song justice… The main melodies are derived from the midi files Mr_Y included with his original upload. Perfect for an orchestral rendition! At least that’s what I thought… and I do hope Mr_Y and the community agree!
Something extra cool about about my lucky draw is that Mr_Y actually wrote this song in response to a song I wrote. It’s a different perspective… the dark side of humanity. I like to see things through an idealistic lens, but am I just fooling myself? Are we all “hard wired”? Regardless of the answer, immersing myself in Mr_Yesterday’s piece was a powerful experience.
