Just read about the walk. Nice idea and I applaud the spirit. But the only thing asking candidates “How will you, candidates, end this system of corruption in Washington?” will result in is more lies. Didn’t Mr. Obama say he would end big money in politics? Even outlaw lobbyists? Maybe he even meant it and had every intention of doing so. I believe the only talk that might do some good now would be to get Mr Obama in a locked room the day after he’s out of office and ask him “Ok, why couldn’t you do what you said you would do?” And don’t let him out ‘til he’s answered in a direct, truthful and non-political way. Was he threatened? Just what happens the day you become president that makes anything ‘of, by and for the people’ an impossibility?

But my point is - that question has been asked, the answers have been captured, shared and critiqued. A movement was begun. Wasn’t ‘real change’ Obama’s whole platform? Why do you put any value on what they say? Why do you think your words can create pressure? I’m sure (at least I hope) you realize that by the time a politician is in New Hampshire they are already part of the corruption and are well versed in obfuscation and outright lying. Furthermore they have no motivation for doing anything for ‘the people’, as their wealth elevates them above any real concern. They demonstrate over and over again… oh nevermind, the futility of words is infuriating. Sorry about the rant. Good luck. Stay warm.

I love Lessig’s stuff. One of the few actual thinkers nowadays!
