well, you already know how I feel about putting process in front of musical results… but I’m the first (or not) to admit when it works… and it works here for sure, probably not a coincidence that the source material is itself so emotionally evocative it is rendered beautifully here. Well done.

(I’m wondering if there should be a system tag like ‘incidental’ or ‘soundtrack’ to lead directors to these kinds of cuts)

Thank you. I discarded a number of other things using this process, because they did not work at all.

Then I thought a simple pella might work better. I like Lisa’s voice, and thought it might come off kinda chill-jazzy. The modernist soundtrack music it generated just intrigued me too much, so I posted it.
I think I might have done better just mining the best part of the melodies for melodic samples, and then incorporating them into more complete songs. But I liked the spareness of the line as is.

Like it very much. Downloaded for my iPod. My only regret is it is not longer!

Thank you! I think I want to re-do it as a slower work, stretched over a rhythm track, and then try it again as simple ambient drone.
