The vocals on this piece are two public domain speeches from archive.org. One is President William McKinley, giving a campaign speech on his porch in
1896. The other is President Dwight D. Eisenhower, speaking on August 21, 1959, upon signing into law the proclamation that admitted the State of Hawaii into the union. The third “vocalist” is Lisa DeBenedictis, whose voice is morphed into strings for the purposes of the central section, accompanying Mr. Eisenhower.
