Thank you :-).

I’ve spent the last year reading a biography of John Adams and I live within a 15 minute drive of where Washington crossed the Delaware (no joke the town’s called “Washington’s Crossing”). This kind of thing was bound to result :-).

Jefferson gets it.

If nature has made any one thing less susceptible than all others of exclusive property, it is the action of the thinking power called an idea, which an individual may exclusively possess as long as he keeps it to himself; but the moment it is divulged, it forces itself into the possession of every one, and the receiver cannot dispossess himself of it. Its peculiar character, too, is that no one possesses the less, because every other possesses the whole of it. He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. That ideas should freely spread from one to another over the globe, for the moral and mutual instruction of man, and improvement of his condition, seems to have been peculiarly and benevolently designed by nature, when she made them, like fire, expansible over all space, without lessening their density at any point, and like the air in which we breathe, move, and have our physical being, incapable of confinement or exclusive appropriation.

Kind of a shame he didn’t get a lot of other stuff. But I guess we can’t all get everything … Thanks. Great quote.

Fabulously conceptualized and realized. Your voice is affirmative, strong, clear. Great job! I cannot wait to see hear how this powerful piece is used.

Thank you Susan. I appreciate what you said about my voice since I recorded after my kids had gone to sleep but in my office which is just at the foot of the stairs leading up to their rooms. I was a little afraid of being mealy-mouthed :-).

most excellent. love your adaptation of the declaration - perfect given these times of corruption. our words are the light to illuminate change.

love the whispered ending… perfectly stated.

rock on essesq!

Thank you Emily. The ending was my need to respond to my own sense of being overly earnest. If there’s one thing I hate it’s people and art that tries too hard :-).

I don’t know exactly whose brainchild this project (the “event”)was but thanks for the idea. I am certain it will yield some very interesting results.

it was really a group effort….from the CC to ccM. a huge thanks to spinnmeister for actually drafting the details and really developing the idea. spinningmerkaba for working with CC and rolling the ball forward. sackjo22 for helping draft forum post and helping with launch. fourstones, gurdonark, go1dfish & mcjbox for suggestions, input, refinement & assistance. Loveshadow for the first upload. everyone else who contributes. i could go on and on.

the point is - we are a WE. the ccMixter Community is a vibrant example of people working together.

thanks for being such an important part of it.
