For sampling purposes I’m grateful you left the main instrument relatively dry but I could have stood for a touch of reverb.

For example some of the really high notes around 3:30 make it difficult to "just play" this piece with headphones.

There’s a neat trick that might be appropriate where you split the signal down two busses: put heavy compression on one and put reverb on the other (non-compressed) one. That way, the reverb only kicks at high volumes.
