I like the intersperse of the male vocal sample into the mix. I like the way you’ve kept the madrigal feel to the proceedings. The bells are a nice touch, but need to come up in the mix. I think even more found sounds and field recordings might have made this even more fun—perhaps the “who” of an owl,
perhaps a primitive bit of ‘klang” percussion as a sporadic rhythm track. A few of the delay artifacts seemed more noticeable in this spare remix, and a few more added fx would have helped mask them. I like the way that two disparate vocal tracks can improbably be fun together. That’s a good idea! |

Thanks very much for this review, Gurdonark. Hugely helpful. I went searching for some bells because of the crackles and pops and found some excellent field recordings. Didn’t have a track left (!), but mostly wasn’t sure if that was the right way to go. Now I will definitely try it!

I love the interplay between JE’s voice and Dr.E’s voice — terrific pairing! This is a dish where the ingredients came together nicely!

I love your reviews, SackJo22, wherever I find them on this site. I don’t know where you find the time to listen and write, but the way you express yourself is fantastic—always as entertaining as the music itself (sometimes more so)! Anyway, thanks. It was improv. I just wanted to see what would happen if I did that and was pleasantly surprised by the result.

I apologize that it’s taken me so long to leave a review for you. I love Dr. E’s pella, and hearing it mixed with my own is gratifying and beautiful. Great work. :)
