Lovely remix of a lovely vocal performance—really top-notch in all respects!

Thanks, I think it really needs a lot of work to tighten up. I had to play everything live, including the drums, and I’m not a drummer. I tried to impose a time signature and tempo and no matter what it didn’t work. Something magical about human time keeping and yet such a pain in the ass …lol

Although apparently even our time fluctuations are part of a pattern

Hi Jeris—yeah I thought the drums/percussion sounded live and in fact the whole thing is great because it’s so loose and unlike a standard MIDI/DAW thing. It’s a great acapella you worked with and listening to that made me want to jam—always a good sign. Will check your Harvard link—looks intriguing! UPDATE: just read that article—human rhythms are fractals! Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Yea, another interesting thing to check out is some of Wolfram’s work on fractals. Fascinating how the simplest pattern reiterated millions of times can produce landscapes and insect-like forms.
I also read recently that computer code was found in string theory equations…specific computer code!
There’s also patterns across languages…anyway..I’m babbling

I love this, you’ve interpreted the original beautifully - it sounds like a great Joni Mitchell track

Thanks so much, yea she has a great voice and style. I think the acoustic bass, piano, and slide really suit her. I bet a violin or cello would be great too.

Just perfect ! I’ll have to check that link out later. I strive for that live feel most of the time. You can fabricate soul!

Thanks man, a new mix is up. I fixed a couple of timing problems that were driving me crazy. I also added more slide guitar, in the first mix I only had them in the first verse and chorus…that didn’t really make sense.

an excellent backing track for Heather’s vocals. This is a vocal style I love and Heather’s sound reminds me of an Australian singer/songwriter I like - Emma Louise

I cannot stop watching all her videos…just amazing amazing stuff. Incredible to write and perform like that at that age and be unsigned. Thanks for sharing that!

She is. I’m surprised she’s not better known (even in Australia)..but I just found out from her Facebook page that she’s about to come to LA and New York.

This is stunning. Some notes.
1) Brave is one of my favorite films of this year. Hope Heather sticks around
2) One of the only times I’ve been remixed, it was a musical fractal:
