In the earliest versions of ccMixter, one could access the Freesound library using the samples search features of this site. That way, one could pick up a birdsong, a flock of goats or a stray doorbell at need. Thank you for taking this bit of one of my Seven Virtues tracks and giving it a rich setting. I love having reached the age in which the sound of my own voice is less annoying. Thanks for giving me such a great remix.

I only entered ccMixter when the Freesound connection had been removed and the announcement of the ended partnership was still on.
I am waiting to reach the age of being able to listen to my own voice…maybe one day I start singing. ;-)
I am glad you like the mix.

A beautiful peace to fall into.
And thanks for that link, I hadn’t heard it before.

I was wondering what gurdonark was up with when he paused here on ccMixter so I just googled him….and found the treasure of his blog and podcast.

I like it a lot, harmonic, harmonious, cool, and if you close your eyes, you get a beautiful, free and magical trip.

Excellent work on the mix

Magical, meditative, fully absorbing and full life’s mystery… plus, a bit of a ccMixter history lesson! I love it. Perfect demonstration of Gurdonark’s words.

Hehe…thank you Kara.
I really tried to add an additional sample after 2 or 4 bars. Just like Gurdonark introduced.
Your feedback always is special for me.

Take a sample and build a remix out of that. Beautiful work, high skill.
They say harmonic, yes, but I also like the middle part when we listen to some enharmonies in the long tones superimposed to Gurdonark’s melodic loop.

Thank you for your feedback and your experienced listening (recognizing the disharmonies).
It was kind of important for me to have a simple constant (the initial sample) and let the disharmonies resolve back into harmonies. I think that is kind of the trick used in horror movies to play with ones perception of the scene screened.

A fitting tribute to ccMixter on our 17th birthday (and also All Hallow’s Eve!) I love how the ambience rises patiently after a well-described spoken introduction into what and how we create together here in our community. The title is awesome!
