Hey PZ, it sounds operatic. Has a grand opening and parts of it sounded medieval and magical. The beginning part with the vocals sounded quite “busy/ crowded” to my ears (I think you might have missed a pitch correction for panu’s stanza at the start). I very much liked the track from midpoint onwards, where the track settled into a nice tempo. Looking forward to your MIDI files. Quite like your classical arrangements.
An off-tangent question: what were you doing in Iraq? Peacekeeping force? (no need to respond to this if you don’t wanna). |

A real refreshing treat to hear such a traditional mix. The medieval/baroque approach works excellently. Great to hear the different pellas working together so effectively too.

There was a call to try to get some more pellas for the Holiday Project:
http://ccmixter.org/thread/... with trying to get two or more to fit together, so this was my attempt. Thanks Scott, I love you work btw! |

a beautiful tribute to the concept of “peace” - at least it is a reality when listening to an offering like this.
excellent. |

[update: For the benefit of others new to this thread - Watzmann’s cool :)]
Watzmann, music is subjective. Your comments are absolutely uncalled for. If you don’t like it, there’s the stop button. [unless… you were replying to a comment on your own music, and accidentally posted it at this thread.] |

Its cool Ivan, you have to admit it ain’t great :D But thats why I didnt include it in the Holiday remix.
Its weird tho, probably my best remix (albiet crappy mastering) Shannon Hurley’s Sunrise remix [url=http:/ http://ccmixter.org/files/P... only got a couple reviews and this has like 6 so go figure :o) |

Well, I checked out Watzmann’s music and his comments posted at other people’s remixes. It’s possible it was an accidental comment on your post. If it isn’t, ah well.

What a terrific arrangement — and it’s great to know you are back safe and sound.
