hey dude this has great emotional depth
I sense the mixing was tough because of the amount of low mid range tones, you either had to drop out some instrumentation or smother the vocal, am I right? |

Theres a lot of close mic technique on the take so once it was balanced i brick walled it ,

This is lovely and a perfect demonstration of why I was really glad that you weren’t in the secret mixter pool, because if I had to remix you in two weeks I think I’d faint.

This is quite lovely. The string notes actually make the piano sound better - the interplay of the two is beautiful.
Very minor point - did you have to manipulate the pitch of the vocals a lot? Sound like a few artefacts here and there - nothing really disturbing though (unless it’s just in my head in which case I’m sort of worried). Beautiful track. |

If you look back at some of my stuff its a pattern to try and find counterpoint melodies to the basic chords. That and i am lazy so can’t be bothered to change the loop.
There’s some phazing or room ambience in the original vocal and i sped it up by 20% which brought that out even more . I fed it thru Antares then. Some notes get pulled harder than others thru that route. If had more time i would have by passed the culprits. So your ears are fine ;-) |

 fourstones at Puako, Jan 2009 After a 26 hour travel day (from Melbourne), instead of going straight to the rental, we stopped at a Costco (major super-duper-mart) and I picked up three packets of white T-shirts. When we got to the place our landlady for the month greeted us as we got out of the car with “Oh my, look at you two, all black!” (Indeed, both Cin and I were black, head to toe.) I was beyond tired but I managed to ask her “Does the word ‘Loveshadow’ mean anything?” |

Loveshadow agreed to remix StateShirt on the condition that I post a picture of myself wearing any color other than black. I probably shouldn’t admit this but there are few colors I would not wear for that combination of remixer-singer - as you can hear here. |
