this is an interesting soundscape…i feel the lyrics in my gut - i am a stone, heavy yet strong. the odd sounds surrounding the vocal paint the storm and the vocal is the eye. nice.

I love what you’ve done here, Kaer. This is a really wicked what you’ve come up with! I’m grabbing this one and putting it into my DAP (Digital Audio Player). ;)

Oh good. I was worried it wouldnt seem anything like you. Is there a difference between a DAP and the poddy things us mac people listen to?

This is honestly one of the best mixes I’ve heard here in some time. (However, being honest, I’m quite inclined to the unusual and experimental.) You paint an entrancing and lovely picture. It nails me right in the center and carries me away on an exotic journey of self-examination. I wouldn’t worry too much about something being too weird or unusual to upload. If that were a serious concern here myself, Anchor, Gudonark, and a slew of others wouldn’t be around. :) Honestly, I would be thrilled if you would upload some unusual and experimental vocals in this vein!

I know all about your weirdness. I have many porch cat things downloaded onto my poddy thing. Will do on the vox, however the echoing stuff was an accident, I pulled a ‘frozen’ vocal track (ableton) onto a new track and it did the whole weird echo think on its own.

Dear Lord, why would you punish your poddy thing and heary ears that way? :) Some of the most interesting and unusual effects are quite accidental. (I’m a knob twiddler.) Keen thanks for uploading the vox.

Kaer, I too have been out for a while, but am very glad to be back in time to notice this. It is not only a great examination of the power of your vocals but also a lush soundscape I can slip into like a tunnel to another place. I also saw my two sons into high school this last couple weeks and it has been a trip to see them grow and influence me in ways I won’t really understand perhaps ever. Thanks for putting this up, forgetting about EQ concerns (it gives others confidence to see anyone say it). As with visual art, focusing on the composition can always overcome subtle chifts in technique. Besides, my personal EQ tester (ear-quality tester) noticed nothing wrong with this remix.

It’s going, high school…not much else to say. They’re doing well, probably better than me but here comes another remix!!!

The vocal treatment (your *own* vocals treatment) is lovely. Mana Junkie tracks are usually based on hypnotic loops and you happened to found the exact match for them: hypnotic looped vocals.
The guitar is a terrific addition.
The track buildup is awesome.
And definitely, “weird”, “experimental” and “electronic” tags are missing here.
You are back with your best. Congrats!

About the technical part: yes, the mix/EQ is not completely right (though it sounds fine anyway, better in external speakers). There is some clipping in the louder vocal parts also.
If I have the chance I may work on a remastered version, and send the results back to you.

I can send you the vox and trach separate. The vox does not clip in the sign wave part, but my eq’ing is horrid. let me know. would love to hear it improved beyond my skillz.

Like a cosmic Emily Dickinson standing on the edge of the cliff of reason and saying “what the hell - why not jump?” - a wonderful surreal poetic offering - one of my faves of the secret-offerings.

This is a hell of a track. The first half is outstanding - but then when the second part hits with the guitar and the initial vocals return it becomes something very, very special.

Terrific track. Your best one in my ears.

Thank you. I didn’t really think this would garner any praise, perhaps I should re-evaluate what I think is good>>>>>

Naah - don’t do that.

The real trick is to worry less (which may be the reason the method of having a bottle of wine before uploading works so well for me!).

This is absolutely great. And when this guitar appears..waOOO..! There is a strenght in your music, a power. You remember me Bjork, and her volcanic country. You are a volcano. You impress me..There is so much in you..I love you…

Wow—honesty think this is my favorite of your many tracks, loved the vocals layers in the beginning. I dont think its strange at all, its passionate and earthy (maybe thats the volcanic Ditto mentioned)—very happy to hear it and to add it to my downloads for tonight—thankyou

At first i got surprised by the strong delay, but then the songs builds up and comes this lovely sad guitar, and of course, I love sad things :D … very interesting soundscape, and I like very much the lyrics with the weird sounds in the back and the guitar leading the journey. full of emotion.

… this one went right through and left a chill!!! Very emotive and powerful lyrics. In the midsession I hoped for you to scream, and you did… and just before the ending I hoped your voice would burst… but it didn’t. Wonderful! b.k.
