Nice! There is something very ripply and water-like about the guitars in the beginning that fits your lyric so well.
Edgy and spirited as always. You go girl (ok so that’s a little dated, but then so am I ;-) ). When the tanned dude is done with you can you send him in my direction, I’m flailing out here!! P.S. nice to know you’re feeling better. |

thanks girl- I will send tan man over when I am done…

Always a pleasure to hear you..always..You sing better and better, just sometimes, some notes…not sure..but..anyway..you’re great..
Just a question..How do you find the time to record..? |
.
The stems were so excellent that I really mixed most of this yesterday morning while waiting on hold with AT &T, to get cable in our new house. The vocals came very quickly this morning at 8 am.

Another example of your keen ear and great writing- everything meshes nicely, and as usual, very powerful and expressive.

oh god I love you..
the vocals seems way too loud in the mix, but your voice is so addictive! edit: how do you record your vocals? |
.
hi!
I am glad you like the mix- one reason I posted so quickly is that I knew the stems would get mixed a lot- they are so great. I usually mix my vox in pretty high, just because I guess I want to hear myself, and I am half deaf due to years of loud music:) I use a low end mic (sure beta 58 A) and record with pretty standard 2 point eq and a little delay & compression (in ableton). In this case, I took two vocal tracks and put one through multi band compression and the other through an amp simulator with a pretty extreme phaser (on garageband). The two vocal lines are a little out of synch (something ditto ditto taught me) to give them some fullness. I know, they are pretty loud. You can always remix it though, to your taste! |

you have gotta be pulling my leg. usually I view my position on ccmixter as the sad, tag-along little sister that doesn’t know what the hell she is doing.
It is an m-audio fast track pro 24 bit pre amp. In terms of interface- I record on ableton live (6.10) and then render to an aif and finish on garageband. I seriously sometime just press a whole bunch of buttons until it sounds ok. Some of my earlier a capellas involved over 18 eq points. |

haha, you’re too humble. if there’s anything I admire, it’s being able to make and sing lyrics that resonates so well with the music and beats. I’ve always wanted to find such an elegant vocalist/collaborator to make an electronic album with, but alas..
have a nice day! |

Another gem from the VOICE.
One little nit pick. Like it was said before, the vocals are a bit high in the mix for me, but it’s about preference. Nice work. |

Once again your vocals are first rate and the delivery spot on.
The backing production is very good but for some reason I felt it at odds with the vox. I’ve only had one cup of coffeee this morning so maybe I’m not fully awake yet. This is still a great sounding mix maybe its a 3 cup one and not a single regular!! |

Another memorable demonstration of your vocal capacity. I like a lot. Thanks for moments like this.
