Hi Bob and many thanks for this. Actually, I keep thinking, “OK, enough, stop with this music stuff and do something else!” but then another idea pops up and I feel I have to record it. I post the stuff here because otherwise no one would hear it.

I’ve now listened to this several times and it sounds better and better every time. Shit-hot! Luv those min7’s (If my ears interpret it right). And there’s a reason you don’t call this one “an idea of a song” - it’s already wrapped up and ready to be mailed.

Hi Zep and thanks for this. The notes for those verse chords are:

E,E(8ve),G,D,B,E
C#,A,A(8ve),E,B,E

So I guess that’s Em7—A add9 ??? The chorus chords do end on Em7. I had in mind an old John Martyn track called “Root Love”.

I played the chorus chords on both acoustic and electric guitars, as I wanted the option of beefing them up with fuzz, saturation, or whatever.

Anyway, I’m really happy you like this! I had the lyrical idea first, of some kid/guy playing video-game shooters online 24x7 (latterday “Pinball Wizard”?). But I was stuck for a melody so I jammed around on these chords and impro’d the vocals on top. I ended up with a Bluesy, American-sounding vocal, even though I’m a Brit—but it just came out that way so I decided to keep it. Well, over to you mate! I’m really loving your remixes—great ideas you got, and great sounds you make. I like that you take good care of all details—makes everything cool! Cheers!

This lyric attracted me because I’ve got two sons who won’t peel their eyes from screens of one kind or another. Very clever use of the words, but what impressed me more was the rhythmic groove you had flowing in this and the vocal performance is perfect for the subject. Great job on this. A real head bobber :-).

Hi and thanks for this. The lyric was inspired by a BBC news story about how video games are now designed to exploit the brain’s “addiction” buttons. The groove was inspired by an old John Martyn song called “Root Love”. I didn’t want to preach in the song so settled on this approach. Glad you liked! And hope all’s well with you.
