I like the intro, which gives way to solid if somewhat over-virtual beats and an electronica melodic flourish. I like the deeper melody that flows along in the 1ish minute section of the song.
I like the way you’ve got melody panning around 1:50 in the headphones—it really gives the piece life. I wish you could do something similarly dynamic with the beats. The vocal samples are used well in the piece, though it might be a bit better if the vocals were a bit more distinct here and there. This one has a lot of things I like, but it doesn’t completely grab me. The production choices on the melody expressed by the synths is really fun, but then the percussion sounds really a bit canned. The net effect is overall a good song, but a few different mixing choices might have made this a great song. I suggest that you consider varying the beats more and applying a few fx to parts of the beats, for variation. Still, a good listen, and thank you for sharing it. |

Hi! Thanks very much for your very helpful comments. I didn’t realize the song had been reviewed or I would have replied sooner. I agree completely re the percussion, and as soon as I get over being utterly sick of the song that’s what I’ll return to. Thanks again!

I listened to this awhile back and thought for certain I reviewed it :?. I like the cosmic atmosphere to this, 8 prime’s vocals work well. I’d like to hear more variety in the breaks…if there’s one mistake I’ve made a thousand times it’s not focusing enough on the beat programming. I can definitely hear some expansion to the beats in this mix, but perhaps the artistic intent was to keep the beat minimal.
