I like the cello, even though I think you’re right, a bit of sorting out might help, in terms of some variation. I could imagine a second instrument, like a grand piano or a contrabass, filling in atmosphere here. I like the spare feel, but the issue is how to keep the piece from getting too bogged down in repetition.

The little backing vocal track doesn’t work for me. The sample of processed something is pretty interesting.
