Hey, What the Hell?

Today’s victim is Speck’s Hey 2016. Victimization includes stuffing the SpeckVox into an F# minor box, self-indulgent experimentation with Izotope Vocal Synth, then subjecting the resulting SpeckVox to bold dubstep in F# minor. The ccmixter What the Hell singers are Stevie B and Coruscate.
After completing the basic track, thought additional instrumentation would provide depth and color. Coldsolder sent a review reply to say that stems for Last Crooked Mile were uploaded. Considering the just in time arrival, Coldsolder’s stems must have meant for this remix. Cut and pasted and repitched down to F# some Coldsolder synth parts as a pad for the intro progression Then added David Boudah’s soaring guitar “as is”. Added some shifting synth notes using Harmor for more depth, motion and differentiation between the first and second tonic chords in the three chord progression. It’s a fusion of dissimilar styles and feels.
