New Year Resolution:
Change Your Style

Back story: Between 1973 and 1993, Cornell Butler, a singer, songwriter and good friend of ours, used to visit and record ideas for songs with the plan that one day we would craft and record completed songs. After decades of not fully completing any works together, Cornell passed away.

“Change Your Style” uses a pell Cornell recorded. Ed Clore (bass) and ElRon (guitar), who played with Cornell and me in the 1970s, reunited to complete one of the songs Cornell laid out for us years ago.

Survey says, “don’t be too busy to create and archive music with your friends because ‘later’ may not exist.”

Susan is obviously the soulful backup singer. The other ccMixter samples used are integrated into the drum/percussion.

I searched lyrics posted on ccMixter for someone singing the word “change”. Found quite a few. Susan singing “exchange” in “After the War” was right on the money after chopping off the “ex”.
