Wow! Had vocal remixes over the years, couldn’t wait till my instrumentals got a remix, thanks! Did you make a new drum kit out of the samples? So far that’s what I think you did unless I breezed right by one of the others…

The shuffle drum and percussion is made up many samples spread out over several mixer tracks. Could not find a premixed beat that fit this song. Had to Frankenstein the drums/percussion out of spare parts “:0) Plenty of spare parts on ccMixter. The resulting homemade drum/percussion is mushy but it provides the desired “jamming around the house with guys” shuffle feel.

The jazz brush work is from a sound library. The homemade shuffle beat and jazz brush track are played together to create better forward motion (more drive) than the brush work alone.

This is too cool for cats. Totally amazing feel. I agree in recording sessions too. I had some vocals from someone extremely talented who passed who was amazing. I feel for you.

Straight up Fantastic! Especially loved the horn section. Also if you pieced together this drum track to get that jammin feel….You have gone above and beyond! Coolest thing I’ve heard in Weeks!!!

This is so great on many levels — arrangement, production, feel. Your “frankensteining” is just monstrous! I am very pleased that I get to be a part of it!

I am sorry to hear of your loss. What a sad reminder, “if not now, when” (as so impressively put by essesq, that it has become one of many mantras for me).

Happy new year to you and yours — here’s a 2012 filled with many more creative opportunities!
